We’ve got you covered in two major areas:
Materials / Manufacturing Defects
For qualifying GAF shingles and accessories, any defects in materials will be repaired or replaced. The first 50 years (or specific term) is 100% coverage, meaning you won’t pay for replacement materials. After that, coverage becomes prorated.
Workmanship / Installation Errors
If something’s installed incorrectly by our team (flashing, valleys, roof-to-wall junctions), the Golden Pledge includes 25 years of workmanship coverage. During that period, GAF will cover labor to fix leaks caused by errors in installation.
Excluded items or rare conditions (improper maintenance, extreme misuse, non-qualifying components) will be listed so expectations are clear.
To qualify for the Golden Pledge, your roof must be installed by a GAF Master Elite® contractor (that’s us). You also need to use a qualifying GAF shingle plus the required GAF accessory products (underlayment, flashing, ridge cap, ventilation, starter strips). We’ll handle registering the warranty for you so you don’t miss a step.
100% period first 50 years for most material coverage
After 50 years, material coverage becomes prorated
Workmanship coverage lasts 25 years
You can transfer the warranty once to a new homeowner (under certain conditions)
